Our Team
Our team consists of experienced commercial real estate professionals and managers who are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our assets, clients, tenants, and staff, and who have worked on acquisition transactions on numerous commercial assets. Among several, Golden Rock team members executed on a 2 million sq ft industrial project. Golden Rock team members hold graduate degrees such as PhD, MBA, and MS in fields such as data science, quantitative finance, and biotechnology, and with further training and work in real estate development, investments, and securitizations. Members attended graduate schools such as The Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, Carnegie Mellon University, New York University, Capitol College, and University of Pittsburgh, among others.
Our Founder
Our founder, E. St. Mark Latty, PhD (or Ed) is the Chairman of Corpelligence Investments, LLC (or "The CIL Group"), the private equity parent company of Golden Rock Real Estate Partners (GREP). As a senior managing director for GREP, Ed oversees investment strategy and managers for transactions and asset management, client relations; monitors capital budgets; and is a member of the investment committee. Ed has over twenty years experience working across four major domains in commercial real estate: Acquisitions, Development, Investments, and Securitizations, and of various strategies. He is the key member that ideated a structure and arranged a team for the funding of a multibillion dollar infrastructure / commercial development project (under confidential agreement). He also led work on several acquisition transactions such as for five large office / trophy towers in three cities, and advised on recapitalization transaction for a 2 million sq ft industrial / warehouse. Ed previously worked at Criimi Mae (bought by CWCapital), the firm that helped started the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) industry and where he managed several billion dollars of debt as well as on various aspects CMBS deals, among others. Previously, Ed headed the investment banking arm of an insurance group, was interim head of an acquired commercial bank, and negotiated the purchase of FMDI, an airports logistics firm that served national clients. Ed also did a brief stint at Merrill Lynch.
Ed currently serves as a lecturer for biotechnology business at The Johns Hopkins University where he designed its curriculum and led student venture groups to investigate promising life-saving medical device and drug discovery ventures. Ed previously served as an adjunct professor for venture capital and private equity at another large university where his top quartile students subsequently became executives at major Wall Street firms and elsewhere. Ed invented new ways of valuing commercial real estate investments and gives rich insight into property and capital markets, and climate impact. His dissertation research investigated new ways of valuing commercial properties and which has implication for Federal Reserve rates to mitigate recession. Ed also presented as academic speaker at conference and events such as Building Owners & Managers Association International (BOMA). He discovered a biologic / drug product and holds a medical drug patent-pending.
